I’m always looking for quick and easy recipes, especially desserts, and cookies are at the top of the list.

But if I see too many ingredients in a recipe, I probably will skip it.

Let’s face it we are all busy. Sometimes we want to bake something sweet without spending a ton of time.

That is why I LOVE this collection of 3 ingredient cookies. Most are made with pantry staples you already have.

Tips for Baking 3 Ingredient Cookies

My husband was a baker and owned a bakery for many years, so I learned a few tricks along the way.

Probably the most important tip to remember when baking cookies is that timing is everything!

An extra minute or two of baking time will determine if you have a perfectly soft and chewy cookie hit, or an overcooked crispy cookie miss.

When I first started baking many years ago I could never quite get it right.

Here are a few important tips:

• Preheat oven
• Let the cookies cool completely at room temperature
• Timing is everything-a minute or two makes all the difference
• Use a large baking sheet with room for cookies to spread

Once you find the exact baking time with your recipe, write it down on the recipe card so you will have perfectly baked cookies every time.

Believe it or not all ovens are not the same. So my cookies may have to bake for 12 minutes and you may need to go an extra minute or two.

Another thing I learned was just because a recipe has 15 ingredients doesn’t mean it will be better than one with 3 ingredients.

For example, his go to sugar cookie recipe is made with just flour, sugar and butter.

Add your favorite frosting and decorate them however you like, but the basic cookie recipe is classic for a reason.
