1. Before You Apply

2. Submit Your Application

  • Complete theUndergraduate Application.
  • View thedownloadable instructionsto see the steps on how to fill out the online application.

During the application process, if you have questions about how to apply to USU as an international undergraduate, fill out the Information Request form.

3. Pay Application Fee

Pay the $50 nonrefundable application fee with a credit or debit card. Application fee waivers are not available for international undergraduate applicants.

4. Submit Supplemental Items

After you fill out the application and pay the application fee, you can submit the application and submit your supplemental items. You may need to log out of your application portal, and then log back in, to upload the supplemental items. The supplemental items section of the application can take 24 to 48 hours to appear after paying the application fee.

5. Log In to Application Portal

After you have paid the application fee and submitted the application, you will need to log back into yourUSU Application Portal and upload the supplemental items required for your undergraduate program. The supplemental items section of the application can take 24 to 48 hours to appear after submitting the application.

Not all supplemental items listed are required for every degree. In some cases, the admissions counselor may need to add additional supplemental items. Check with your admissions counselor by emailing usuintl@usu.edu, if you have questions about the supplemental items required for your application.

Please submit all supplemental items 10-14 business days before the application deadline to make sure there is enough time to process your application.

6. Send Transcripts to USU

Request your official transcripts be sent to Utah State University through postal mail, in your institution's sealed envelope, or electronically throughNational Student Clearinghouse.

If by postal mail, have your institution send your official transcript directly to International Undergraduate Admissions, or forward your official transcript by postal mail in the original, unopened envelope provided by the institution.

Official high school/secondary school transcripts showing all coursework and marks from the last three years of high school/secondary school and certified English language translations, if not in English language. The minimum GPA requirement is 2.7 or 660 total on the General Education Development (GED) exam (550 Battery Average prior to 2014). Some majors may have a higher GPA or GED requirement.

If you have attended college or university after high school graduation, official college/university transcripts from an accredited institution are required with a minimum GPA of 2.7. Some majors may have a higher GPA requirement. If transferring from a regionally accredited college or university within the U.S., with completion of at least 24 credits of course work in English, excluding English as a second language courses, high school transcripts are not necessary. The credits must show on your official transcript. In progress course work will not be considered.

7. Send Test Scores to USU

Request your testing center to send your official test scores to Utah State University. Official ACT or SAT scores are required when applying for all Computer Science or Engineering programs.

Please submit your test scores at least a month before the application deadline. To prevent delays with your USU application, make sure the personal information on your test scores (for example, email address, physical address, first name, and last name) match the information listed on your USU application. Expired test scores will not be accepted.

If you are unable to take the ACT or SAT exams, you may followthese instructionsand submit your official results from your ALEKS Math Placement Exam, which can be taken at your home.

8. Send English Scores to USU

Complete List of English Language Proficiency Requirements: TheEnglish language requirementsmay be satisfied by submitting official scores in several ways noted below. Please ask the testing agency to send your official exam scores to Utah State University (USU).

  • TOEFL - USU's institution code: 4857
  • IELTS - Upload the student copy of your score report to your online application
  • MET - Upload the student copy of your score report to your online application
  • Cambridge - Upload the student copy of your score report to your online application
  • SAT- USU's institution code: 4857
  • ACT - USU's institution code: 4276

What if you do not have an English score?If USU does not receive your results, you may be eligible for the Intensive English Language Institute (IELI) placement exam after you arrive and any required IELI classes prior to taking classes for your program of study.

Please submit your test scores at least a month before the application deadline. 9. Check Your Application Status

At any time you canlog in to your admissions accountand check your applications status. We will email you if we are still waiting for you to submit documents such as transcripts or test scores.
