Have you ever had Smashed Blackstone Cinnamon Rolls? Here is a way to make cinnamon rolls on a Blackstone flat top grill. When you make then once you’ll be doing it again and again.

I have spent hours making scratch cinnamon rolls, rolling them out, and then watch the rolls rise and bake. But that takes several hours of my time and a lot of planning.

My husband makes the canned cinnamon rolls in the oven for a hot tasty breakfast treat. Both are great, but my favorite cinnamon roll is smashed cinnamon rolls on griddle.

This can easily happen when we have a Blackstone Griddle. The Pillsbury cinnamon rolls are great tasting and something you can buy and store in the fridge until you want to make it.

Griddle cinnamon rolls take less than 15 minutes and require no prep work besides preheating the flat top griddle. It’s my preference for baking on the Blackstone Griddle especially when you are out camping and don’t have an oven to cook in.

Yes, you can cook cinnamon rolls on a flat top grill!! Blackstone Griddle Cinnamon Rolls are awesome!!!

Low and slow is what you want the griddle to be on because if you bake them too fast, they will burn on the bottom and be doughy in the middle. When made right, they are so delicious.

Blackstone Griddle or E-Series Griddle

Griddle Spatula

Parchment Paper

How to Make Cinnamon Rolls on Blackstone

While you are at the grocery store, purchase a canned cinnamon roll tube. Any brand will do. When you are ready to make your smashed cinnamon rolls, preheat the griddle of your choice.

A Blackstone flat top gas griddle should be set on low heat. If using the Blackstone e-series griddle, then set the dial to 350°F.

Once the flat top griddle is hot, open the cinnamon roll tube. Lightly grease the griddle with your choice of oil. You can use butter, olive oil, or etc.

Separate the cinnamon roll layers and lay each round piece flat on the preheated griddle making sure to leave plenty of space between each. Take a piece of the parchment paper and lightly grease one side of it.

Place the parchment paper on top of the cinnamon roll. With your griddle spatula on top of the parchment paper, press down to flatten the cinnamon roll round.

Gently peel the parchment paper off the cinnamon roll and continue to the next piece until all of them are smashed. Cover with a dome lid.

Check the cinnamon rolls often so they do not burn on the bottom. Cooking times will vary. When the cinnamon rolls are golden brown on the bottom, flip them over.

If needed, cover and continue cooking until the griddle cinnamon rolls are done. Remove from the griddle and stack on a plate.

Warm up the icing that comes with the cinnamon roll tube. Spread or pour over top the smashed rolls and serve while they are hot.

How to Store Griddle Cinnamon Rolls

If you have any leftover cinnamon roll breakfast patties, then make sure to store them properly. Layer in a Ziplock bag or in an airtight container.

Use plastic wrap or parchment paper between the layers. Store in the refrigerator for up to 6 days or freeze for up to 30 days. Reheat in the microwave or the air fryer.

  • Cinnamon Roll, Can (12.4 ounces) 1 each
  • Butter 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the griddle of your choice. A Blackstone gas griddle should be set on low heat and the Blackstone e-series griddle should be set to 350°F.
  2. Once the griddle is hot, open the cinnamon roll tube. Grease the griddle with your choice of oil. You can use butter, olive oil, vegetable oil, etc.
  3. Separate the cinnamon roll layers and lay each piece flat on the preheated griddle making sure to leave plenty of space between each patty.
  4. Take a piece of the parchment paper square and lightly grease one side of it. Place the parchment paper on top of the cinnamon roll piece. With your griddle spatula on top of the parchment paper, press down to smash the cinnamon roll piece. Peel the parchment paper off the cinnamon roll and continue to the next piece until all of them are smashed.
  5. Cover with a dome lid or griddle cover. Check the cinnamon rolls every so often so they do not burn. Cooking times will vary due to griddle temp,, thickness of the cinnamon roll, and the air around the griddle.
  6. When the cinnamon rolls are browned on the bottom, flip them over. If needed, cover with a lid and continue cooking until the griddle cinnamon rolls are done.
  7. Remove from the flat top griddle and stack on a plate. Heat up the icing that comes with the cinnamon roll tube. Pour over top the smashed Blackstone Cinnamon rolls and serve while they are hot.

Notes

  • Store extra cinnamon rolls in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 6 days.
